The client's legacy payment switch processed 8,000 transactions per second at peak — insufficient for surging mobile money volumes across the region you serve. Monolithic architecture made every deployment a multi-day affair, and reconciliation required 48-hour batch jobs that delayed fraud detection and partner settlements.
Integration with new fintech partners took 3–4 months per adapter, blocking the bank's open banking strategy.
Our solution
LesterTechLabs designed an event-driven microservices platform with Apache Kafka for transaction streaming, idempotent REST APIs for exactly-once processing, and a real-time reconciliation engine. The strangler-fig migration routed new transaction types to the modern platform while legacy flows continued operating during transition.
